Founded as a levee contractor in 1928 on the banks of the Mississippi River in Tallulah, Louisiana Tractor and Equipment Company became the first Caterpillar dealer in the State in 1933.

Nearly half Louisiana Cat's business comes from Power Systems Sales, Parts and Service.
Louisiana Cat Power Systems headquarters is located within the Port of Iberia in New Iberia, Louisiana. It is a ISO 9001 DNV GL certified design, fabrication and customized packaging operation which designs and builds to the most demanding offshore requirements for diesel and natural gas prime power, standby and gas compression applications. Louisiana Cat consistently ranks as the top Caterpillar marine engine dealer in the Americas, offering dockside service in Morgan City and field service support to marine customers globally.
